Internet (Internetwork)

Internet is the world wide network, connecting thousands of individuals computers with a common protocol called TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) for providing resources that add to the abundance of goods, services and information. At the heart of the internet is a backbone of high speed data communication lines between major nodes or host computers, consisting of thousand of commercial and government offices, educational institutions and banks, personal computer and others, that route data and messages. Any kinds of similar or dissimilar systems are accessed for handle data transfer and conversion of messages from the sending networks protocols to those of the revieving network.
In 1960 DAEPA (Defence Advance Research Project Agency) introduce a new technology on network that is connecting other computer. In 1965 satellite communication was started for transferring information. But unfortunately DARP was splinted in two different organizations in 1983. First was MILNET (Military Network) which served the defence community and another was ARPANET (Advance research project agency network) which served the research and education community. In the mid 1985, another federal agency and the NSF (National Science Foundation) joined with ARPANET and called internet. In 1990's after shut down this network may more commercial internet companies started their services. After development of WWW (World Wide Web) in 1989 the internet really became popular. Since 1992, the services of internet are extended the whole world.
